Art of the MonthArt of the Month is in person, at the monthly meeting only. Work may be framed or matted so that it can be displayed on an easel. If you have an easel, floor or table style, PLEASE bring it. MVAL DOES NOT MEET IN JULY AND AUGUST Here’s a check list of summer to-dos for MVAL members:

Diana Keuss
Pasadena, CA
Diana’s art training is informal. She started with oils and is keenly interested in plain air painting. Since moving to Pasadena she has been learning watercolor from Pete Morris. She would love to experience a variety of artists approaches and looks forward to finding workshops and demos to expand her artistic journey.

James Gallego
Pasadena, CA
James worked for 40 years in the animation industry, mostly with Disney as a background artist. He also worked for Nickelodeon, Warner Brothers, Marvel and others. He is interested in continuing to paint Urban Landscapes, Pet Portraits and other subjects. He works in acrylic, gouache, watercolor, oil and charcoal. He had many screen credits with the animation studios 1984 - into the 2020s. James earned his BFA at Art Center College of Design. He hopes to meet artists, improve skills and find new
opportunities.

Lee is a returning member of MVAL, many of us know him from both our group and his involvement with the local art scene. He studied art in college and also has an MFA in Cinema. Lee has been painting in oils for about 20 years. He is also Associate Artist in CAC. He enjoys the fun association with other artists.
