December 2018 Demonstrations—Six Simultaneous Members!

RAY TUCKER
I enjoy all art mediums, but my favorite is acrylic. Its’ ver- satility allows me to explore my favorite subject, the land- scape, in my own unique style. My process puts together the elements and principles of design in a impressionistic interpretation. I emphasize color, light and the poetry of the subject at hand. My landscapes are the result of my imagination, not from photographs or onsite observation. The result is combination of vistas that I have seen in my travels through the landscape.

MICHI IKEDA
When I paint with water- color I focus on colors and shapes by rearranging what I have in front of me. I studied with Tom Fong for years and have taken classes and gone on some trips with Chris Van Winkle. George Haft was
3 my beginning teacher.

VALYA HRISTOVA
When I paint I like to be spontaneous... to stop thinking and just trust my intuition. Sometimes I like to leave some things out or give little hints. This way I can encourage the viewer’s to use their imagination to (mentally) complete my piece in a personal way, and engage them deeper into my work.

FELICIA HAZELTON
I discovered Yupo and TerraSkin paper about 4 years ago and now have to force myself to use anything else to paint on. Both surfaces are made from synthetic polymers and were initially made for the advertising industry for sighs, bags, posters and banners. This substrate floats the paint on the surface ethic creates cute a challenge in control but fits my personality for its “happy accidents” and constant surprises of chance. It gives an advantage of being useful for imaginative compositions in either watercolor or acrylic which rubbing alcohol, col-
lege, ink, pencil and caran d’ache crayons may be added for additional textures. While I love painting nature items,
I have become addicted to rocks and canyons as sub- jects. Painting 3 days a week motivates me to paint more and inspires me to share
my work in numerous area shows and area completions. Let the fun begin.

LYNNE FEARMAN
I love to play with paint when not painting in plain air. So I play with dark masses and look at it until it speaks to me and suggests a pattern or a scene. I love to make up scenes and sunsets and forests. I enjoy abstracts too, which may be my plan for this next meeting.

ARMANDO RUIZ
Armando is motivated to communicate his impressions through abstract art. He is combed to communicate the feelings and emotions, which exist in nature and scriptural subject matter through abstract expressions. His goals are directed to communicate the beauty, complexity and mystery of creation. He hopes to generate art which provides enjoyment to the viewer and enhances an appreciation of the author of life.
